Top 5 Winter Skin Essentials

Wisconsin winters are tough. For a variety of reasons. But probably the most annoying to me is the effect it has on my skin. I have very dry, sensitive skin. Even in the summer, my face gets flaky if I don’t take care fit and stick to a regimen. It is both a blessing and a curse. My family members who have oily and acne prone skin always tell me they wish their skin would dry out. No my loves, no you don’t!

I want to share my top five cold weather skin care essentials with you. If you have any that you love, please share them in the comments below!

1. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Nourishing Lip Balm

I used to get HORRIBLE dry, cracked lips during the cold winter months. My primary doctor actually recommended this product to me and it has completely saved my lips. I use it all year-long now, not just when the air gets chilly. It has SPF 20 in it so it is actually a great product to use in the summer too. My best advice is to put it on before you go to bed and just let it soak in overnight. Buy Elizabeth Arden Lip Balm

2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea

I love this product. I am usually leery about putting toners or sprays on my skin because it is so sensitive. I usually spray this on right after I get out of the shower. The ingredients help to calm and cool my skin before I use my moisturizer and other skin care. It is also great to keep in your purse or gym bag to hydrate throughout the day. There is also another formula which is a cult favorite. It is Aloe, Herbs and Rose Water. I personally have not tried this formula but I hear wonderful things about it! Buy Mario Badescu Facial Spray

3. Belif The True Cream Moisturizing Bomb

This moisturizer has been a lifesaver for me! It is just the right thickness to be able to use it in the winter as well as the summer. I use a dime size amount for my face and neck. Warming it in my fingertips and patting (not rubbing) it into my skin seems to be the best method. Belif’s combination of ingredients does not irritate my very sensitive skin. There is also an Aqua Bomb formula for those with oily and combination skin! Buy Belif by clicking the image below.

4. Lineage Moisturizing Foam Cleanser

I usually don’t purchase new skin care without actually seeing it and feeling the formula in person. I searched the Sephora website for dry skin cleaners and the Lineage had great reviews. This moisturizing foam cleanser states it de-flakes rough skin with fruit acids and helps combat dryness, uneven skin tone and dullness. I am so happy I tried this product because it has really helped my skin so far. If you have dry, sensitive skin like me, I highly recommend you try this foaming cleanser! Buy Lineage Cleanser

5. Neon Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling-Lemon

The name might sound like a mouthful, but these little pads are totally worth checking out! I have ALWAYS been afraid of products with the words “peel” or “acid” in them because my skin is so sensitive. But it was brought to my attention that I still need to exfoliate to make my other skin care perform better. I use these about once a week and they have never irritated my skin. I feel if I can use them, just about anyone should be able to! There is also a green tea formula that is targeted for all skin types as well.  Buy Neon Dermalogy Lemon Pads

I hope these products help all of you combat your dry, sensitive skin!
